Sehr saubere und wohlerhaltene Abschrift zweier Werke des spanischen Staatsmanns Antonio Pérez (1540-1611), Haupt der Kanzlei Philipps II., Vorbild für Shakespeares Antonio im Kaufmann von Venedig. - Am Ende mit Besitzvermerk eines Doktor Martin de Arenzana, dat. 8. IX. 1775. - Im Kopf- und Fußsteg tlw. knapp beschnitten (erste oder letzte Zeile tlw. angeschnitten). Erstes und letztes Bl. mit kl. Sammlerstempel. Einbd. stellenw. berieben.Fine Spanish manuscript: 17th cent. copy of 2 works of the Spanish statesman Antonio Pérez, the model for Shakespeare's Antonio in 'The Merchant of Venice'. 45 and 70 leaves, paper. Sheet size 21,5 : 16 cm. 17-20 lines, brown ink. 18th cent. marbled calf with gilt spine, label and gilt border. - Partly cropped close to upper and lower margin (affecting first or last line). Small collector's stamp to first and last leaf. Binding rubbed in places. 18th cent. ownership inscription to last leaf.
