Monogrammed "D." and dated in lower centre. 82,5 : 103 cm (32,4 : 40,5 in). Very detailled landscape of a high artistic qualtiy by the Düsseldorf painter Carl Dahl. Dahl picks up his training as an artist in Berlin and attends the Düsseldorf Academy as student of Johann Wilhelm Schirmer in 1833. He goes on numerous hiking tours to the Hunsrück and the Rheingau and visits Heidelberg, the Upper Rhine, Lake Constantia and the Alps. He joins the Düsseldorf artist ckub Malkasten in . [AS]

Good overall impression. All in all minimally discoloured. With craquelé in places. Edges rubbed in places due to the framing. Small retouching in the lower margin.
