• Otto Modersohn and his fellow Worpswede artists are considered to have shaped the style of a new, intuitive landscape painting and to have paved the way for Modernism in Germany.
• From 1925, Modersohn spent his summers in the Allgäu.
• In the Ostrachtal valley below the Nebelhorn mountain, he discovered a lighter palette filled with transparent clarity and created works full of painterly poetry

EXHIBITION: Die Modersohns im Allgäu, Otto-Modersohn-Museum, Fischerhude, February 27 - April 18, 2018.

In good condition, colors in fresh impression. Consistently bordered with textile tape. Margin with traces of rubbing due to framing, there partly with small losses of color. The mountain in the left with isolated small retouched and (old) overpainted spot. One smaller area with fine craquelure. The condition report was compiled in daylight with the help of an ultraviolet light and to the best of knowledge.
