• This is one of the artist's great early woodcuts.
• Still showing notions of Art Nouveau, the depiction in all its simplicity has a tremenduous expressiveness.
• These early woodcuts by Erich Heckel, of which only a few copies were printed, are extremely rare on the international auction market (source: artprice.com).
• The few other copies are exclusively museum-owned.
