Rudloff 954. With artist's signet, number and foundry mark "Guss Barth Rinteln" underneath the left hind leg. From an edition of ten casts. 25.3 x 34.3 x 11.2 cm (9.9 x 13.5 x 4.4 in).
This animal sculpture is based on nature studies of elephants that the artist made during a stay in Africa in 1955. They were executed as woodcuts in "Elefant" and "Afrikanischer Elefant" (Lammek 234 and 254). [EL].
