Gerhard Altenbourg returned home from the war in 1945, after he had completed school a year later he began his art education. Erich Dietz was one of his most influential teachers, who also inspired him to the untensive occupation of nature. This work is part of the series of "Baumwesen". By means of the intertwined plants Gerhard Altenbourg creates mysterious spaces. Our pastel is partciluarly captivating for the tremendous color effects
