• Alongside Arnulf Rainer, Prachensky was a founding member of the Vienna artist group "Galerie nächst St. Stephan" in 1956.
• He taught at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna, where he also headed painting master classes, from 1983 until his retirement in 2000.
