Dekoratives astronomisches Instrument, wohl von arabisch-ägyptischer Herkunft mit nicht-islamischem Hintergrund. - Das Gehäuse (mater) unter der Aufhängung, im Rand und auf dem Boden mit fein eingravierten arabischen Schriftzeichen und Schmuckbordüren mit Vogel- und Blumenmotiven, darüber 5 beidseitig gravierte Scheibeneinsätze (tympane) und der Datumsring (rete) mit Sternzeigern. Die Rückseite fein graviert mit Schriftzeichen und den Sternzeichen sowie floraler Bordüre und Motiven. Die mit einem bewegl. Metallstift auf der Rückseite angebrachte Alhidade wird auf der Vorderseite der Rete mit einem Metallelement in Form eines kl. Vogels fixiert. - Rete leicht angedunkelt, sonst gut erhalten.
Arabian 19th or 20th century astrolabe, a decorative astronomic instrument with neat engravings and decorations, the alidade, attached to the rear by means of a movable metal stick is attached to the front of the rete by a metal element in form of a small bird. - Rete slightly darkened, else well-preserved.
