Berger/Ladwig 030. Buhlmann 63. Verso with the monogram "RS". Height: 28.3 cm (11.1 in). Base: 6,5 x 6 x 6,3 cm (2,5 x 2,3 x 2,4 in).
The quality of this cast suggests that it was made by the art foundry Noack in Berlin. We are grateful to Mr Hermann Noack, art foundry Hermann Noack, Berlin, for the kind support in cataloging this lot. [SM].
• In "Daphne" Renée Sintenis formed the finest expression of female grace.
• Charming interpretation of the traditional motif in Sintenis' characteristic rhythmic and easy line.
• Other copies of the "Kleinen Daphne" are in renowned public German collections, among them the Nationalgalerie Berlin and the Wallraf-Richartz-Museum, Cologne
