• Intimate studio drawing from the sought-after "Brücke" period.
• In this work Kirchner not only devoted himself to the study of human physiognomy, but also outlines the interior of the room.
• During these years, the Dresden studio was not only living and working space of the "Brücke" artists, but also a meeting place for female amateur models.
• This work presumably shows either Kirchner's girlfriend Emmy Frisch or his lover and later girlfriend Doris "Dodo" Große
.
