This watercolor is one of the rare works from Feiniger’s early period of creation, when the artist put an emphasis on a narrative content, however, it dos not lack the forms typical of landscapes from these days. With a few reduced lines and clear accents Feininger created his humorous and imaginative figures. In this case it is a wedding procession on its way to church, integrated in a geometrical city silhouette, which is so characteristic of Feininger. The scene is annotated with a winking "Oh, just: 'curiosity!'", a feature that Feininger uses to show his caricaturist ambitions. [SM].
