The work will be included into the appendix of Fritz Overbeck, catalog raisonné of studies in oil (on cardboard) as "Davoser Schneestudie" under the no. G 50. Chronologic classification under G 34 and G 35 (both showing "Seehorn"). Signed lower left, inscribed and dated "D.(for Davos) 28.11.08" lower right. With sticker (fragment) "Dr. Hübbe, Hamburg" and label of the Berlin art shop Keller & Reiner with the inscription "Fritz Overbeck ' 13071, Unverkäuflich" on verso. 38 x 46 cm (14,9 x 18,1 in)

PROVENANCE: State attorney Dr. Hermann Hübbe from Hamburg, a friend of Overbeck, died in combat in 1914. Presumably gift from the artist, also possible that it was sold or given to him by his widow Overbeck-Rohte after Overbeck's death.
