Burden 30 (3. Zustand). - Aus einer der italienischen Ausgaben von Ptolemäus' Geographia von G. Ruscelli. Dritte Ausgabe der Karte mit Seemonster, Segelschiff, hinzugefügten Ländernamen Virginia und Nova Francia etc. Zeigt die Ostküste Nordamerikas von Labrador bis Florida. - "This map of the east coast is an enlarged version of Giacomo Gastaldi's published in 1548. The nomenclature and cartography are unchanged, with the exception of the depiction of the rivers. Here [Ruscelli] borrowed the assumption of Ramusio that the Hudson and St. Lawrence Rivers, as we know them today, were connected upriver." (B.) - Mit zartem Plattenton. Mittelfalte mit untersch. Wurmspuren, die Fehlstellen (nur wenig Bildverlust) sorfältig restaur. und nachgezeichnet. Vorwieg. die Seitenränder mit kl. Einrissen, unterer w. Rand mit 1 minim. Fehlstelle. Wenige Knick- und Knitterspuren. Insgesamt schönes sauberes Blatt.
3rd state with added seamonster, ship etc. - With a delicate veil of tone. Centrefold with several wormholes, the loss of paper and illustration carefully restored and redrawn. Margins partly with small tears, lower white margin with 1 small defective spot. Few creases. Overall a good clean copy.
