Breicha R 25-34 edition A (of C). Signed and numbered in imprint. Each print signed and numbered, some signed and monogrammed in the plate. From a complete edition of 98 copies. On laid paper. Up to 31.8 x 43.8 cm (12.5 x 17.2 in). Sheet: ca. 54 x 38 cm (21,2 x 14,9 in).
Lacking the over-painted etching of edition A. Printed on the handpress by Rudolf Lauterbach, Vienna. Published by Galerie Rottloff, Karlsruhe, autumn 1963. [AR].
• Over-painting is a key principle in Arnulf Rainer's creation.
• Ths sheets of the portfolio are titled "Rübezahl", "Die schwarze Schwimmerin" or "Liebesgrab" and hint at the figurative motifs underneath the black overpainting.
• His works are an art-historically relevant contribution to European post-war art.
