Between 1890 and 1906 Kauffmann rendered the theme of the knitting girl in Dirndl with a cat on a couple of occasions (cf. Holz 813, 833, 926, 957, 961, 1028, 1168), our work is characterized by a particularly neat execution and a miniature-like appearance. [FS]
