The line's swift duct, the rough surfaces and fissured materials earned Schumacher's paintings the description "Weltinnenbilder" (Images of Internal Worlds). Indeed, it seems as if the artist turned the inside out in his paintings in order to allow a look into hidden worlds. At the samer time Schumacher's works stimulate free associations and interpretations in the visual process. [DB].
