Neo Rauch’s art student years in the 1980s, when he attended the Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst in Leipzig, studying at first with Arno Rink and then in Bernhard Heisig’s master class,, were a period of trial and error. The phase in which Neo Rauch still worked largely with abstraction laid the foundation for later skills in technique, representation and composition. Those early Neo-Expressionists works already revealed the energy and intensity that inform Neo Rauch’s œuvre. [NB]

Very good overall impression. Lower right corner minimally uneven. Edgs with tiny color losses, more obvious on lower edge.
